10 days ago Scale-Factory's engineers began working on a new project with the designers from Wrmth Corp. an innovative heated outdoor furniture manufacture located nearby. The team at Wrmth had a new product they wanted to bring to market and they had sketched it to help get things started. Knowing that Scale-Factory's team had what was needed to make the dream a reality they came to us to work through prototypes and into production with them.
Working closely together Wrmth's designers and Scale-Factory's engineers quickly iterated that initial sketch with additive manufacturing in mind. Since the start of the conversation 10 days ago, we are already using our additive manufacturing to bring the idea to life. Like many other products, this one is not as simple as it appears and many obstacles need to be overcome. The concept is an exciting design object that uses modern design tools and techniques. It contains three distinctly different materials that all need to be managed differently, and that each present their own workflow challenges. Stay with us over the coming days as we work through the initial production prototypes of this exciting product and get it ready for production.
